Mission 1: Strategy and steering:
- Throughout weekly plans, conduct door-to-door visits to support the identification and data collection of persons with disabilities.
- Ensure the data entry and documentation of information in line with HI's standard operating procedures and data governance as well as international standards through guidance from the Technical Unit and MEAL department.
- Upon request of the Senior Project Manager, report on weekly or monthly achievements and issues in the implementation of the program, safely and ethically.
- Communicate and link with other members of the mobile team, regarding internal referrals (PSS, protection, rehabilitation, and Project Officer-Service Linkage), to ensure a comprehensive approach.
- Coordinate with the Camp Health Sector and health actors.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in mapping existing health services in the area.
- Ensure external referrals and follow-up, by gathering feedback on service provided for documentation.
- Manages the reporting of the team rehabilitation sector to the Senior Project Manager, in link with the Rehabilitation Assistants - Closely follow up on individual and familial cases to ensure timely follow-up of all the beneficiaries
- Place referral of beneficiaries identified for specialized service when necessary - Ensure proper documentation and reporting as required by HI and TU - Ensure the beneficiaries sign the necessary document when the provision of items/devices.
- Closely work with the Accessibility officer when planning and implementing any accessibility work for the beneficiary and ensure the proper user training for the beneficiary and caregiver. - Work in close collaboration with the volunteer, ensuring the quality of service.
- Perform other tasks as requested by line management and technical unit - Be caring, and compassionate and maintain good communication with beneficiaries at all times
- Demonstrate ethics and professional practice
- Respect the beneficiaries’ confidentiality.
- Respect and promote HI’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners. Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or others.

- Always ask permission to touch or apply any treatment or maneuvers to someone. Speech and Language Therapist Under the operational supervision of the Senior Project Manager and the technical supervision of the Rehabilitation Technical Specialist and Technical Officer, Speech and Language Therapist provides Speech and language therapy to inpatient, and outpatient rehabilitation services in HI Cox’s Bazar Area.

Mission 2: Operational implementation
Responsibility 1:
- Provision of Speech and Language therapy as a Rehabilitation services.
- Provide rehabilitation care to the most critical and high-priority cases according to the guidelines of HI’s emergency rehabilitation interventions.
- Prescreening and prioritization for accurate assessment, planning, and provision of appropriate SLT service to the beneficiaries, including ongoing evaluation/reassessment of the beneficiaries, within the constraints of the project resources at the fixed point, the beneficiaries’ home, and where relevant.
- According to the outcomes of the assessment of the beneficiaries’ needs (taking into account her/his Ensure specialist intervention demonstrating clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based practice and outcome measures while being able to adapt practices to meet individual beneficiary need.Plan to implement and evaluate joint sessions with members of the multidisciplinary team, incorporating speech and language therapy targets.
- Management of a highly complex and demanding caseload of children with physical disabilities, severe or profound learning difficulties and complex needs.
- Familiarize yourself with the global rehabilitation approaches of the Handicap International Federation (Humanity and Inclusion) - Inform the beneficiary and the caregiver importance of SLT services to improve the impairments and communication situation and daily function in regard to speech and language difficulties.
- Provide specialist therapy services utilising a variety of service delivery models including individual, joint, multidisciplinary, group and home-based directed sessions.
- Review the most recent information on the beneficiary’s evolution before starting a treatment session and adapt your treatment or seek technical advice from your TO when needed
- Ensure the safety of the beneficiary during the rehabilitation sessions and take into account contraindications and precautions related to diverse illnesses, problems, and medical treatments. Refer for medical advice if needed. (DO NO HARM)
- Advice and train the beneficiary and the caregivers on the basic exercises that the beneficiary can do on his/her own or with/without support from caregivers on the way to prevent complications or disabling situation Develop and implement speech and language programmes for individual and groups using expertise to create innovative and effective ways of working where appropriate to maximise individual beneficiaries’ potential.
Responsibility 2: Provision of Communication Devices/ product and Rehabilitation Equipment Management
- Identify the beneficiary’s needs (for critical and high-priority cases) in terms of communication devices and aids, as per HI guidelines.
- Ensure that the device is adapted to user needs and provide clear explanations to guarantee its safe and proper use and maintenance. - Ensure a proper follow-up on the use and wean off the assistive device.
- Ensure the provision of communication devices is made according to the strategy (quality and quantity) and the needs identified
- Enhance and Ensure quality by supporting Technical Officer (TO)- Rehabilitation in the provision of assistive product or devices .
- Anticipate and update the need for communication devices stock and equipment to the Technical Officer.
- Rehabilitation to ensure the PSR is addressed as per the identified need and the Senior Project Manager.
- Support TO in ensuring the quality of devices and equipment in the warehouse as per the request of TO or as necessary
- Plan and utilize the local resources to ensure reasonable accommodation for the beneficiary where needed
Responsibility 3: With the SLT & Rehabilitation Space in Static point
- Ensure there is an adequate stock of supplies and report to the Senior Project Manager if any stocks are needing replenishing.
- Ensure the SLT and rehabilitation service room is clean and tidy at all times to ensure a professional image.
- Report to the Senior Project Manager any damages or problems with the equipment.
- Ensure OHS is in place and is followed by clinical staff.
Mission 3: Emergency preparedness and response
- Contributes to the program’s emergency preparedness actions and, in an emergency, adapts his or her working methods to contribute to an effective humanitarian approach by HI.
